JOB DESCRIPTION:
This person is responsible for supporting the Service Department Director with proactive service inspections, meeting obligations for Operation & Maintenance contracts, and assisting with the design and implementation of monitoring solutions. This person responds to service calls to troubleshoot and repair commercial and residential PV systems.

• Position is full-time, beginning in January 2012
• Salary range is $45-55k (depends upon experience)

| Duties: | RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Take the lead on Service Dept related work as a licensed Electrician, creating best practices and safety protocols
• Assist with installation of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) solutions for commercial and residential projects
• Resolve system outage cases and suspected performance issues utilizing DAS tools
• Respond to customer emails and phone calls relating to system performance
• Assist with equipment warranty and vendor RMA processes for customers
• Provide feedback to sales/design/install for best practice improvement
• Proactively visit existing installations to ensure proper operation
• Educate new and existing customers on how solar PV systems perform and operate
• Some travel may be required

| Qualifications: | ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Journeyman or Master Electrician licensure
• Excellent communication skills and customer follow-up
• Strong understanding of every aspect of solar PV design, installation, and trouble shooting
• NABCEP Certification
• Working knowledge of NEC code, especially Article 690
• An understanding of electrical wiring, sizing conduit and wire, and bending pipe
• Able to read and understand electrical and structural plans
• Excellent teamwork skills – ability to foster a positive team environment through collaborative decision making
• Computer skills including standard MS applications, especially MS Excel for use in analyzing system information and performance trends, MS Visio, and web-based monitoring solutions
• Non-essential but valued: Understanding of Data Monitoring Systems and related wiring and computer systems, networking knowledge such as TCP/IP, device addressing and MODBUS protocols, knowledge of CAD programs |
